In the valley

In the valley

As I walked out of my house this morning and saw the beautiful Southern Idaho sunrise it struck me, We truly are blessed. In my own life over the last several days I think I have lost sight of how blessed we are. It is easy to think about and focus on all the things that are going on right now, but if all we ever do is focus on what is happening we will soon fall into the panic mindset.

We have been told in the Word of God that we will be protected and that we will come out the other side:

Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.”

The Lord loves and watches out for all of His children. He will be with you! It is in the times of trials that the growth happens. It is also in these times that it can seem like we are in a valley in our faith, but I want to share with you an observation from many years of hiking in the Idaho backcountry.

When we climb the mountains that we hike in guess what is on the peak of the mountain? Nothing! There is only rock, but down in the valley that is where the trees and brush grow. Why? That is where the water is, it is in the valley that the growth happens, and it is in these times that we have the chance to truly grow in areas of our faith that we never have before.

Take the chance to grow, trust God and watch Him work in your life today!

Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
